Indonesian Foot and Ankle Society (INAFAS)

Foot and ankle surgery in Indonesia was just developed in 2010s when several orthopaedic surgeons were sent abroad for formal fellowship programs, starting with Dr. Ihsan Oesman who had his fellowship in Yonsei University Severance Hospital, Seoul, Korea

In 2015, Indonesian Foot and Ankle Society (INAFAS) was initiated by 6 doctors : Ihsan Oesman, Dimas Radithya Boedijono, R Andri Primadhi, Andre Triadi Desnantyo, John CP Butarbutar, and Daffodilone Cahyadi. The founding proposal was approved in Indonesian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) Conference in Tangerang, November 2015. Subsequent inauguration of INAFAS took place in IOA National Congress in Jakarta, November 2016.

INAFAS is affiliated to Asian Federation of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (AFFAS) and Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA). Many INAFAS members actively participated in many AFFAS, IFFAS, APOA scientific meeting, as well as other regional or other countries’ societies meeting.

INAFAS is also being the backbone of post-residency training in of foot and ankle surgery Indonesia, having involved in subspecialty training (university based) program and fellowship (orthopaedic college based) program. Not only in education, research and publication are the other prominent features of INAFAS members as well.

INAFAS will always open for everyone who had interest in foot and ankle surgery.
